I have always loved drawing and painting. As a child I drew characters in outrageous fashions, and only wore flowered underwear - never solid!
I have been creating surface patterns and designing textiles since the turn of the century. With a degree in studio art, I first learned to create patterns for fabric as a designer for a line of women and children’s apparel. Since then, I have created surface patterns for various design studios and textile companies.
I enjoy creating art in repeat. I use nature, art, folktales and simple objects as my source material, and research trends for color palette and subject inspiration. Throughout the process, I rely on my own style and art background for the finalized pattern.
I am always open to design opportunities, collaborations and freelance work. View my surface pattern design portfolio on zoelinnanderson.com.
MADE IN THE USA
The designs you see here have been printed on fabric at Spoonflower (in NC) and at Little Cocalico (in PA) using non-toxic pigment inks and a sustainable printing process. The resulting fabric is shipped to me here in Portland, Oregon, where I wash, iron and sew the products.
